Angela Evelyn Bassett was born in the United States. Her work has been recognized for film and television from the mid-80s onwards, she has received various accolades such as two Golden Globe Awards and sixteen NAACP Image Awards in addition to nominations for two Academy Awards and seven Primetime Emmy Awards. Bassett is originally from New York New York. She was born in Winston-Salem North Carolina. Bassett along with her sister who were about five years old, moved away from the city of their birth to St. Petersburg to live with their mother, who was the separated father. Bassett watched the James Earl Jones in John Steinbeck's Of Mice and Men play while she was still in high school, and realised that acting is what she was looking to pursue. In 1980, Bassett was graduated from Yale University New Haven Connecticut with the degree of African American studies. She also received a degree from The Yale School of Drama. She was introduced to Courtney B. Vance, another actress from Yale and they got married in 1997. Qualification: B.A. BA. (Afro-American Studies) in the year 1980. The Master of Fine Arts (Drama) from Yale School of Drama School. Angela Bassett has been cast in the lead role of Ramonda in the action-adventure movie, i.e. Black Panther: Wakanda forever (2022).
